Who are you and what do you do?
I am a Korean-born Christian living currently in Brisbane, Australia. I am happily married to Jane, my wife. My goal as husband is to love my wife and be the best spiritual servant and leader to her. I am not yet a father, but I am definitely looking forward to having children and raising a godly family. I work currently as a sales manager for a timber flooring company, but by God's will I would love to be in either part-time or full-time Christain ministry sometime in the future. I have a passion for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for biblical truth. I write a blog worthshipjesus.blogspot.com. You can follow me at twitter.com/howchow114. How did you come to know the Lord?
I came to know Jesus Christ through a missionary pastor, who introduced me to the Bible. Then it was the Word of God itself that taught me about how sinful I was, and what Jesus Christ did for me. Before God revealed the cross of Jesus Christ to me, I was a false convert doing many activities in the Church, but never knowing the Lord. So unto this day I have a passion for lost souls who are in the church, and I am always interested in how a person can be truly converted and have the assurance of salvation. Why do you love the Church of Jesus Christ?
I love the Church of Jesus Christ because I am the Church of Jesus Christ. I am part of the family now through faith in Christ, and you can't but love your family. I love the Church because though she is weak, she was bought by the blood of Jesus Christ. I love the Church because she is the pillar of truth upon the earth. I love the Church because she has the ability to influence the world with holiness, and she has the ability to be different from the world. I love the Church because Jesus Christ loves the Church as His own body.
What is your greatest prayer for the Church?
My greatest prayer for the Church is that she loves Jesus Christ above anything in the world. My prayer is that Christians not be distracted from the things of the world, but that they would be wholly devoted to Jesus Christ. My prayer also is that the truth be preserved in the Church, especially the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As Jesus said, without this salt within us, the Church is useful for nothing, but will be trampled underfoot by men. My prayer also is that Jesus Christ alone be revealed, exalted and honoured in the Church, and that she exists for nothing but His glory.
Favourite Book and verse of the Bible?
I love Gospel of John. I don't really have a favourite verse, but this verse in Hebrews destroyed my main stronghold of doubt as a young Christian: "And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly wiating for him" Hebrews 9:27-28. The verse made me understand finally that Jesus Christ died for my lifetime of sins that I may be saved.
